With pre-production for the return of Spidey heating up, we have yet to hear how much of a role Spider-Man will play in ‘Captain America: Civil War.’
In an interview with SuperHeroHype Tom Holland went on to confirm that the upcoming Spider-Man reboot directed by John Watts will begin shooting in Atlanta sometime next year. He also mentioned that there might be shoots taking place in New York as well.
Holland was asked why he thought Spidey was unique to the MCU, here’s what he had to say:
“I think one of the most interesting things about Peter Parker for us is that he’s the only person in the MCU now that has a secret identity, so we all know who everyone else is. I think it’s quite interesting to go back to that hiding behind a mask.”
Holland also went on the talk about his love for the character:
“I have always been a huge fan of Spider-Man, and growing up, I had countless Spider-Man costumes, only two years ago did I go to a fancy dress party dressed as Spider-Man. I had this awesome morph suit where you can put your phone on your chest and spiders would crawl across the costume, it was awesome! He’s always been a big part of my life and a big part of boys’ lives because everybody can relate to him.”
What we do know, is that we will get our first glimpse of the new incarnation for Spider-Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ as Holland has confirmed he received and injury while shooting on set.
The rebooted ‘Spider-Man’ is set to hit theaters July 28, 2017
