BATMAN V SUPERMAN IS GOING TO BE BETTER THAN CRITICS ARE LETTING ON

Published

So I couldn’t sit by any longer and not chime in on the situation with ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ I understand how critics make their money. They have to “Critique” otherwise they would be called fantics. But the way I see it is, what do we really watch “comic book” movies for..? We want to see how our heroes come to life on the screen, we want to see how directors depict the individual heroes we’ve come to love, we want to see how they interact on screen with each other and we want to see the most powerful ones battle.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN (MARCH 25, 2016)

The truth is, having some elaborate love story, or deep plot is secondary.. Yes it’s important, but not the first thing we actually look for or expect.  When we find both of those things in a film, yes it becomes mesmerizing, but very rare. How many films have been able to pull off that type of magic in recent history?

(Spider-Man) 2002…?

Maybe, (Matrix Reloaded) 2003…?

We could possibly throw in (The Dark Knight) 2008

There are more, I just want to point out that even ‘The Avengers‘ wasn’t some “Deep” movie. It was what it was suppose to be, a comic on screen.  Zack Snyder was charged with making the opposite of Disney/Marvel. And from what I’ve heard, that’s what he’s done.

I for one can’t wait to see BvS! I will reserve my judgment until after. Hopefully I don’t have to eat my words.

ORIGINAL SUPERMAN THEME TO RETURN FOR ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE!’

With the final ‘Justice League’ trailer eminent and rumors flying in all directions about what we can expect from the Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon collaborated film. Fans have been collectively holding their breathe as to who’s side The Man of Steel will be on when he is resurrected. Reports suggest we will see a dark version of Superman, sporting his black costume and angry with the newly formed Justice League for allowing “His World” to end, that being the death of Lois Lane..

It would appear that the composer for the film, Danny Elfman has let slip some fantastic information that may shed some light into what we can expect.

In a recent interview with Billboard Danny Elfman had this to say:

“There are a few little fan moments. I instated a moment of the Wonder Woman theme that Hans Zimmer did for Batman v Superman, but I also had two minutes where I had the pleasure of saying, ‘Let’s do John Williams’ Superman,’ and that for me was heaven, because now I have a melody to twist, and I’m using it in an actually very dark way, in a dark moment. It’s the kind of thing that some fans will notice. Some won’t. It’s a moment where we’re really not sure whose side he’s on.”

It would appear that Danny Elfman was given the green light to include the original/classic Superman theme song composed by the legendary John Williams. It sounds like the song will play at a critical moment, when everyone is trying to figure out just who’s side the man of steel is on and make for a classic scene signaling the return of SUPERMAN!!

MATHEW VAUGHN: “HE’S A BEACON OF LIGHT IN DARKNESS”

With ‘Justice League’ nearing and the resurrection of the Man of Steel imminent, fans have begun to wonder what we can expect from a “Superman 2” film. There hasn’t been much confirmed as far as the direction of the film, but some have speculated that we will see the “Rebirth” of Super girl on screen.

A very short list of Directors has emerged and with the recent and unfortunate departure of Zack Snyder due to family issues from the ‘Justice League’ film, one can only assume we will end up with a fresh take on the Man of Steel.

One name that has recently been talked about is ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Director Mathew Vaughn. In a recent interview with Collider, Vaughn opened up about his possible vision for a Superman film:

“Weirdly if I did do Superman—and I made the mistake of telling someone yesterday I have spoken about it and then wallop (laughs)—I think my main take would be, it’s really boring but make a Superman film. I just don’t feel a proper Superman—I think Donner did it to perfection for that time. Just doing the modern—I wanna do a modern version of the Donner [version]. Go back to the source material… For me Superman is color, feel-good, heroic. He’s a beacon of light in darkness. And that’s what I think Superman should be.”

Though this take sounds exiting, I feel that was what Bryan Singer attempted to pull off with 2006’s ‘Superman Returns.’ The film took in a modest 391 million and was met with harsh criticism. It would be hard to say if Mathew Vaughn would be able to do anything different with this concept. But only time will tell what’s in store, for the last son of krypton.
