NEWLY RELEASED DC TOYS GIVE US A GOOD LOOK AT ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE’ VILLAIN, STEPPENWOLF

Per the norm, we usually get our first decent glimpse of movie heroes and villains via early released toys. Lego is usually ahead of the game at giving fans a “Sorta look” at what we can expect from upcoming movies.

A fan, recently stumbled upon a package in a California Kmart, which featured a DC toy set titled “Steppenwolf vs Batman.” The toy set shed some light into the deleted scene from ‘Batman v Superman.’ which depicts DarkSides right hand Steppenwolf holding what appears to be mother-boxes. See Below!

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League hits theaters: November 17, 2017

Henry Cavill Reportedly Not Giving Up The Red Cape Just Yet

I’m not just going to sit quietly in the dark as all this stuff is going on.”

Back in 2018, reports rolled in that 36 year old ‘Man of Steel’ actor Henry Cavill would not reprise his role as Superman. The DCEU has undergone many changes since we last saw the popular DC hero on screen. Warner Bros. And DC have gone in a completely different direction. Now focusing on solo, lower budget, character driven films, instead of big budget Hollywood blockbusters. The formula seems to be working for now, as Todd Phillips’ ‘Joker’ starring Joaquin Phoenix, filmed on a $50mil budget has surpassed $1bill at the global box-office.

In a recent interview with ‘Men’s Health’ magazine. Cavill was asked the status of Superman in the changing DC Universe. And his place and take on what will happen with the character:

I’m not just going to sit quietly in the dark as all this stuff is going on. I’ve not given up the role,” Cavill expressed to the magazine. “There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You’ll see.”

It would appear that Cavill is not planning to hang up the cape just yet. By the sounds of it,  he hopes to continue in the role, ushering in a new era for the hero from Krypton, in the post Zack Snyder era. Can Henry Cavill survive the soft reboot of the DCEU? Let us know what you think below.

‘Joker’ Success Has Joaquin Phoenix Talking Sequel

Published

“It ended up being a dream role”

Todd Phillips’ ‘Joker’ had tremendous success this weekend. Blowing the doors off the box-office with a record shattering October at $96mil, beating out ‘Venom’ to take the top spot. While ‘Joker’ is still playing strong in theaters, fans have already started speculating what direction the “Clown Prince of Crime,” will head next. Todd Phillips originally shot down the idea of a ‘Joker 2.’ While talking to IGN Phillips said, “We have no plans for a sequel. We always pitched it as one movie, and that’s it.” Now it sounds like Phoenix has different aspirations for the Joker. During an interview with “Popcorn with Peter Travers,” Phoenix talked about his love for the role, saying:

“You know, I wouldn’t have thought about this as my dream role. But now, honestly, I can’t stop thinking about it,” Phoenix said. “I talked to Todd a lot about what else we might be able to do, in general, just to work together, but also specifically, if there’s something else we can do with Joker that might be interesting. So, it ended up being a dream role. It’s nothing that I really wanted to do prior to working on this movie.”

Phoenix, who famously passed on the role of Doctor Strange in the MCU also had this to say about returning to the Joker:

“I don’t know that there is [more to do],” Phoenix said. “Me and Todd would still be shooting now if we could, right? Because it seemed endless, the possibilities of where we can go with the character.”

‘Joker’ will definitely have fans clamoring for more. The movie sets up plenty of potential options for a sequel. More importantly fans just want to see Phoenix return to the screen as Arthur Fleck aka Joker. Joker has raked in over $258mil worldwide on a reported $50mil budget.
