It would appear that the Star Wars universe isn’t slowing down with its expansion. It would appear that an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie is in the works. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Stephen Daldry is in early talks for the pic, which would center on the Jedi master who has been played by both Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor.

‘Han Solo’ is first up on the docket for the movie franchise, but talks have continued via Lucas Film and Disney as to the next direction for stand alone “Star Wars” films. Other characters have been thrown around, ranging from Yoda, Mace Windu, even a Boba Fett film has been thrown into the mix. But it would seem that Disney is moving forward with Obi-Wan.

It’s not clear what chapter of Kenobi’s life will be focused on in the script. Some have speculated it will take place during the events falling between ‘Episode III’ and ‘Episode IV.’ There could also be an origin film focusing on Obi-Wan’s young life, before he was trained by Qui-Gon Jinn.

A legendary Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi was a noble man and gifted in the ways of the Force. He trained Anakin Skywalker, served as a general in the Republic Army during the Clone Wars, and guided Luke Skywalker as a mentor. Star Wars Databank
