As we all know, the world of cinema is heading toward the ultimate showdown, between two of the baddest monsters on the planet. 2014’s ‘Godzilla’ re-introduced us to the “King of all monsters.” Depicting Godzilla as a force of nature, sent to restore a balance, then return from whence it came, until needed again.

News broke that a film that hadn’t been released since 1962 was getting a remake. Godzilla Vs King Kong! Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts was tasked with solving one small/large problem, making the monsters the same size. He did just that, in 2017’s ‘Kong: Skull Island.’ The King of apes was scaled to epic proportions, making him the largest incarnation yet.

Godzilla is set to return to screens in 2019, depicting the King of monsters against one of his toughest opponents in King Ghidorah, a three headed dragon from outer space. Though this movie sound fantastic, Ghidorah does not carry the fan base that the worlds favorite massive Gorilla does. And in 2020 we will see the battle of the ages, a battle for who will once and for all wear the crown as the king of all monsters.

Director Adam Wingard shared his plans for the monsters in a recent interview with EW:

“I do want there to be a winner. The original film was very fun, but you feel a little let down that the movie doesn’t take a definitive stance. People are still debating now who won in that original movie, you know. So, I do want people to walk away from this film feeling like, Okay, there is a winner.”

It would appear that we will have a clear cut winner and finally have an answer as to who is the King of the monster universe.
