With December 15th so close we can taste it. The anticipation for  the release of ‘Episode VIII: The Last Jedi’ is almost to much for one to individual to handle. TV spots have been great about not giving away too many details, seeming to only shuffle around the same footage to make the trailers stand apart. Lately, fans have had issues with the “Villain problem” in blockbuster films. Steppenwolf via ‘Justice League’ was met with harsh criticism for being one dimensional and poorly CGI’d. Now it seems, even Marvel isn’t safe from the Villain curse. As fans have already begun to nit pick Josh Brolin’s Thanos, with minimal footage from the teaser trailer.

Supreme Leader Snoke has managed to remain a major mystery in the Star Wars Universe. Who is he, where is he from, what is his purpose..? Questions that many fans have been waiting to have answered. Recent trailers suggest we will get a slightly clearer picture as to Snoke’s mission in Episode VIII. Also, Andy Serkis shed some light or dark on his upcoming role:

“There’s a frailty and a damage to Snoke. His face is cleaved in, scars across his mouth, contorted body. But without giving too much away, he is strong. He is the dark end of the Force. He’s the leader of the First Order, but he has his own agenda. He’s a cruel manipulator.”

Serkis went even further and gave us insight into the darkness and raw power of Snoke. When asked to compare if he was more powerful than previous Star Wars villains Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, Serkis has this to say:

“Oh, without question. He has limitless resources, let’s put it that way.”

He went on further to say:

“He is the dark end of the Force. He is literally its ultimate embodiment.”
