‘Lord of the Rings’ star, Elijah Wood and his SpectreVision production partner Daniel Noah, have been toying with the idea of bringing back horror icon, Freddy Krueger. The two have added the property to their wish list of films to make. The duo as of recent has been actively pursing bringing the nightmare hunter back to the big screen. Recently, while making the rounds to promote his new movie, ‘Come to Daddy,’ Wood dropped a surprise as to how he would approach the film.
“You have to bring Robert Englund back for one more film. I think, especially if you’re going to open up a new franchise and take it in different directions, you have to establish it with him and then you can move on. I don’t think it’s interesting to tell the same story over and over again, we don’t need another origin story of Freddy Krueger, I don’t think it should even really be so much about Freddy.”
It sounds like Wood plans to have a “Final” send off for Freddy Krueger/Robert Englund, then expand the franchise beyond what we already know, stating, the film “Shouldn’t even really be so much about Freddy.”
This sounds like an interesting approach to the lore of Krueger. After years of shutting out the possibility of a return to Elm Street, Robert Englund has gone on record saying, he might have one more Freddy movie in him.
Speaking further, Wood also credited New Nightmare with opening the door to referencing other horror movies in another movie
“Scream owes a real debt to New Nightmare. That was the first time the notion of referencing horror movies in another horror movie was possible, it had never really been done before.”
Matt Reeves Drops First Look | Batsuit Test From ‘The Batman’
Fans have been waiting weeks since filming began for Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman,’ for a quick glance at the new batsuit. Now we have our first official look at what Robert Pattinson will look like dawning the cape and cowl of the dark knight. We also get our first listen at the musical tone we can expect from the upcoming film, which to no surprise, is dark and ominous. Pattinson would like to see Batman receive an R-Rating saying that it would free his character up to do more:
“The only thing that’s more complicated is the rating. As soon as you make something an R-rated movie, you’re freed up to do so much stuff. In terms of the character itself, I want to push it as far as it possibly can go. And I think Matt Reeves does as well. You can do crazy stuff with that part.”
